Different ways to give to the work

There are a ways to give to the work of the church, and many of these allow Gift Aid to be claimed against the donation.

Kesgrave Baptist church does not have full charity status, but as a member of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches East Anglia, it qualifies for 'Excepted Charity' status. This means that it can still claim tax relief on donations via Gift Aid.

  • Giving by bank transfer (BACS)
  • Giving on-line
  • Payroll Giving

Gift Aid

Gift Aid enables the church to reclaim tax on donations from UK Income tax payers. Whether you give during the services, give via bank transfer, or give on-line, Gift Aid can be reclaimed.

This can be done in a number of ways:-

Giving in the regular services

During most church services there is collection taken allowing people to give to the work of the church.

Gift Aid can be used to reclaim the tax on this (see below left)

Payroll Giving

Many employers operate payroll giving schemes, whereby employees can elect to donate to charities from their payroll - in which case the donation is fully exempt from any income tax.

Giving by Bank Transfer (BACS)

it's easy to give via bank transfer - if you use on-line banking this can be set up within a few minutes. You'll need the following details:-

       Account no:    80525480
       Sort code:      20-44-51
       Bank:                Barclays, Ipswich

Gift Aid can be used to reclaim the tax on this (see below left)

On-line Giving

You can also give to the work of the church directly on-line. We make use of the BT MyDonate service, which provides a fully secure way to give on-line and where Gift Aid can be automatically claimed (as long as you give your permission). (This is free service, and does not cost the church anything; but there may be a fee for the credit or debit card transaction. It also reduces the administration work in the church).

You can choose to set up a regular or a one-off donation, and you can give to the church general fund, or to the specific funds (e.g the world mission fund).
